I’m looking into having a new JOEY bag made… where the extra padding is standard 🙂
The original Joey has pockets on the back of the interior (like the Kristine) but due to the size, I thought side interior pockets (seen on the potential new model) might work better!
*pictured* my XTI w/50mm attached, 430ex speedlite in pocket, and Tamron 28-75mm in other pocket. I also had it arranged to hold my 75-300 and 28-75mm, which fit PERFECT!
This new Joey is more “boxier” then the original… but again, due to the size, I really like how it works for my gear! And you can see that I kept it a shoulder bag AND/OR back pack… I likie 🙂

One suggestion- have you ever thought of adding a zipper? Nothing has ever fallen out but I fear someday they will!!!

Zippers… yeppers 😉 Not on the Joey, BUT I am making a long awaited prototype of a new camera bag (a touch larger than the kristine, w/many more options) and that will include a zipper 🙂
I like it. But I love the “unboxiness” of the original too. And the extra padding is always a plus.

I just rec’d my order today…I agree with one of the comments about the Boxiness – no boxy…and one suggestion I have is to make the flap bigger on the Joey. These fabrics are great looking and so fun!!…I would like to see it cover more of the bag both in the front and also just a little wider to cover any gaps.
But I’m very excited about my new bags and can’t wait to get out and work with them!
I likie, too! I may just have to get me one of these, too. Looks perfect for just a day trip or something when not bringing a lot of gear. Very hip! 🙂

Well.. the current brown Joeys are all sold out!! I have a few left of the original Joeys.. and then the new ones will be in within the next 4-5 weeks (fingers crossed).
I really think everyone will enjoy this new style. It’s not a super huge change, but it’s gonna rock 🙂
